I'll be presenting a fascinating experience at the Summer School at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft, from July 3rd to 14th!
I am delighted to be able to attend the Summer School at TU Delft on the topic of "Sustainable Housing from a European Perspective." Many thanks again to Prof. Henk Visscher, Dr. Queena K Qian, and Dr. Ad Straub for organizing such a fantastic Summer School!
During the two-week program, I received cutting-edge information in the subject of sustainable housing thanks to professional lectures, field visits, and workshops offered by 17 notable experts from Management in the Built Environment and beyond. Renewable technologies, sustainable architectural management, energy-efficiency renovation, European policies, sustainable construction management, neighborhood rehabilitation, and housing economics were among the topics thoroughly prepared by: Ellen van Bueren; Joris Hoekstra; Marja Elsinga; Hans Wamelink; Daniel M. Hall; Laure Itard; John L. Heintz; Erwin Mlecnik; Darinka Czischke, PhD; Marietta Haffner; Andy van den Dobbelsteen; Peter. The theoretical background was provided by the lectures, while the practical experience was provided by the workshops and field visits. Field explorations in Schiedam, Green Village in Delft, and Urban Redevelopment Projects in Amsterdam were remarkable because they allowed me to establish the sustainability implementation process from policy-making to on-site construction.
The Group Project The "Sustainable Transformation Tender Game" was the most exciting event of the Summer School. I worked in an international and multi-disciplinary team alongside Yuehao Liu, Natalia V., and Hubert and learned a lot about finance, energy, and management. We won the second prize in the Tender Game because of our combined efforts and the final presentation, which surprised me as well.
In short, many thanks to all of the experts and participants from all backgrounds and nations that made my time at TU Delft wonderful. I wish you all the best in your future studies and careers.
