This research project aims to gain a deeper understanding of the post-socialist transformations in Weimar-Schöndorf, "Waldstadt," underwent in terms of tourism and landmark representations.
As far as we are examined, Waldstadt has never been highlighted on the Weimar tourist map whenever one considers visiting the city for questionable reasons. Presumably, Waldstadt is the least learned, documented, and researched out of three large socialist estates in Weimar. We were intrigued and enthusiastic about investigating how society's perceptions and imaginative constructs of these post-socialist legacies are structured by its comprehension of and participation in reality. This initiative is also motivated by the desire to promote Waldstadt to those who have never heard of, known about, or visited the place, as well as to encourage visitors to explore other parts of Weimar that are rarely mentioned in travel destinations.
Therefore, we formed to survey residents' perceptions concerning where they spent their leisure time, their favorite locations, and their recommended tourist sites by structured questionnaires. Furthermore, by analyzing potential visitor locations, we visually and artistically developed worthwhile tourist destinations in Waldstadt.
